FIRST APPOINTMENT

Venue

I am based at Marble Hall, a beautiful, historic Derby building which was the original offices of the founders of Rolls-Royce. Car parking is free and secure. You will be greeted by reception staff who will let me know that you have arrived

Assessment

I will conduct a thorough assessment – considering medical diagnoses, health issues, injuries, causes, range of movement restrictions, pain levels and your expectations of treatment.

Treatment Plan

Following on from the assessment, a plan of treatment will be decided and agreed upon.

Dignity

I will leave the room whilst you get undressed and get comfortable on the massage couch under a towel. You will be covered by a towel throughout the treatment. Only the area I’m working on will be exposed. Some people prefer to wear shorts, but underwear is fine. I will leave the room whilst you get dressed.

Is Sports Massage painful?

Whilst it can occasionally be uncomfortable, it should not be excessively painful. I will communicate with you throughout the treatment to ensure that I am exerting a suitable level of pressure.

Aftercare

I will make suggestions of how you can take care of yourself after treatment and achieve continued improvement. I will send you resources on self-care. This may consist of stretching, strengthening exercises and advice on prevention.
